Lastly, we have seen Manny Lawson in this same situation and it has just been kind of okay, but nothing really special. Let’s just make this point. James Harrison and Manny Lawson aren’t even in the same conversation when it comes to who is a better player. Harrison is by far the superior player and someone who has to be accounted for on EVERY snap of EVERY play that he is in the game. Harrison is definitely an upgrade over Lawson and just a good football player all around.

The Bengals have been quiet this free agency and all of the sudden are getting busy. I think Harrison would not only brings expertise to the linebacker core, but a ferocity that has only shown glimpses on this defense the past few seasons. Harrison can come in and make an immediate impact and save the Bengals from necessarily having to use their first pick on a linebacker that will be there in round 2.
