The San Francisco 49ers have plenty of picks in the draft at their disposal, and there are reports they’re looking to move up from pick #31:
The talk around the league is that the 49ers would like to get a defensive lineman who can eventually step in for veteran Justin Smith. The team also needs a safety, No. 2 tight end and could use an impact corner.
The Atlanta Falcons are also looking to move up from #
Ultimately, the prospects that could be targeted by the Falcons are cornerbacks Desmond Trufant or Xavier Rhodes, and defensive ends Bjoern Werner, Barkevious Mingo and Tank Carradine.
All of those needs could be met at the #21 pick, so perhaps Mike Brown will be fielding trade offers leading up to their selection. The Bengals showed with their trade with the New England Patriots last year that they’re willing to move a few spots back to pick up an extra third-rounder.
This is also the closest the Bengals have been to being a legitimate contender in recent memory, and if there’s a player on the board they feel will help them take the next step, they shouldn’t hesitate to move up and get him.
