The countdown is almost complete to the 2013 NFL Draft. Here are some quick bold predictions that could play out.
1. Eight offensive tackles come off the board in the first 35 picks of the draft. Teams that could be looking for a tackle include the Chiefs, Jaguars, Lions, Cardinals, Chargers, Bears, Bengals, Texans, Colts. The select seven will be: Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher, Lane Johnson, DJ. Fluker, Menelik Watson, Kyle Long, Terron Armstead, Justin Pugh.
2. One of the top guards, Warmack or Cooper falls to the 20’s. Much like David DeCastro “The next Steve Hutchison”, last year one of these players finds themselves in the green room longer than they expected.
3. Five Alabama players are picked in the first 35 picks, Dee Milliner, Chance Warmack, DJ Fluker, Barrett Jones, Eddie Lacy. There is a reason the Alabama teams are so good, they have good players.
4. The Cleveland Browns trade back twice, collecting picks to reshape their roster the way Michael Lombardi envisions. I think they trade with Miami so they can grab a tackle, and then a trade with Vikings for them to select Tavon Austin.
