Strengths

Great speed and acceleration.

Covers the field very well. Locate’s ball carriers quick.

Moves from sideline-to-sideline with ease.

Breaks on the ball very well.

Times his breakups with accurate precision.

Good ball-skills and hands.

Adequate pass-rusher

Weaknesses

Tends to shy away from contact.

Liability in running game.

Too many arm-tackles. Needs to wrap-up ball carriers better.

Needs to add strength.

Can’t shed blocks . Once blockers engage, he often “gives in”.

Crashes hard to the line of scrimmage , making himself susceptible to play-action pass.

Analysis

Evans is a solid safety in pass-defense, and could thrive at the NFL level as a nickle-corner/situational safety who plays primarily on running downs. But for now, his inability to be a consistent run defender will prevent him from being an every-down safety initially in the NFL. could become a great gunner on special teams.

Projection

3rd-4th round
