The Cincinnati Bengals have a hole at safety that has to be filled with an adequate starter before the 2013 season opens in they want to have a truly elite defense, but it looks as though they’ll be going with a fairly unknown commodity. The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Joe Reedy predicts that third-rounder Shawn Williams will start next to Reggie Nelson as a rookie:
The former Georgia Bulldog was regarded as a great leader and a hard-hitter who would never shy away from contact in the physical SEC, so he may be the most logical choice right now. Williams hopes to follow in the recent line of former Bulldogs who’ve become impact players for the Bengals:
Add me to the list of Bengals from Georgia. When I came in my freshman year, I remember Geno being positive and being a role model for me to look up to. Same thing goes with A.J. Green – he was here my freshman year. Me and Orson came in together, so it’s amazing that we can be teammates again.
