AFC North: Cleveland Browns Draft Analysis And Grade

The Cleveland Browns didn’t have many picks this draft, so they had to hit this draft the best they could. They had some needs on defense that they attacked. The Cleveland Browns surprised quite a few people by selecting Barkevious Mingo, a DE/OLB with their 1st overall pick. Not many people were expecting it, but it is very obvious that Mingo has talent. The Browns then had to wait until the 3rd round to hear their name called again, in which they chose CB Leon McFadden. Some people, including me, viewed McFadden as a very big sleeper in the defensive back prospects.

They traded their 4th round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers so they had to wait until the 6th round to pick a player, in which they drafted SS Jamoris Slaughter. The Browns used their final two picks on DE Armonty Bryant and OT Garrett Gilkey. While the Browns didn’t have many picks, they actually attacked their needs with what they viewed on BPA. Now there may have been some questionable moves, but we’ll dwell deeper into some aspects.
