The National football Post was also very high on the Eifert pick, and they now believe the Bengals’ combination of Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert is the second-best TE-combo in the NFL behind only the New England Patriots’ Pro Bowl duo of Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski:
2. Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert. Each of their tight ends was selected 21st overall in the draft, and each was the highest rated tight end in his draft class. Gresham is one of the league’s better two-way tight ends and a two-time Pro Bowler. Eifert has the potential to be a better receiver than Gresham.
There’s almost no question that Eifert will have a positive impact on the Bengals offense in 2013, and he may just be the missing piece that helps this unit ascend into the upper echelon of the NFL. Combine that with an NFL defense already regarded as elite, the Bengals are quietly entering the 2013 NFL season as a potential dark-horse Super Bowl contender.
