According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, a judge has issued a warrant for former NFL receiver and Cincinnati Bengals great Chad Johnson’s arrest, because he violated his probation by failing to report to his probation officer:
Judge Kathleen McHugh issued the warrant May 7 against Johnson for allegedly violating his probation from a domestic violence conviction. Johnson failed to report to his probation officer, spokesman Ron Ishoy said Thursday.
Johnson had pleaded not guilty after the Aug. 11 incident when his then-wife, reality TV performer Evelyn Lozada, told Davie police that he head-butted her after an argument over a receipt for condoms, according to a complaint affidavit.
Johnson signed with the Miami Dolphins as he looked to revive a career that was nearing it’s bitter end. After the initial arrest last year, which was well-documented on HBO’s Hard Knocks, the Dolphins cut him, and Johnson hasn’t played in the NFL since.
It’s been sad to watch Chad’s life spin out of control after his ugly exit from Cincinnati after what was shaping up to be a hall-of-fame career with the Bengals. Unfortunately, his NFL career appears all but over now, despite his recent attempts to get back into the league.
