1. Barry Sanders (Detroit Lions)
Although a lot of people would disagree, in my opinion, Sanders is the greatest of all time. He forever changed the runningback position. Before him, there was mostly the power running, gritty, grindy running game. Then Barry Sanders came along, and made the runningback position what you see today for the most part. He was as electrifying as they come, and was a deadly threat both in the rushing and receiving games. He had a chance to break the all time rushing record, which was held by Walter Payton, but decided to retire before he did so, not wanting the record. He is also now the Madden 25 cover guy.

Honorable Mention
Bo Jackson
Adrian Peterson
Terrell Davis
Corey Dillon
Shaun Alexander
Ahman Green
Ickey Woods
