The NFL is proposing a completely revamped offseason that is expected to be applied to the next three offseasons at the very least. This means that for the next three years, the offseason will look like this:
* NFL free agency would happen in late February or early March
* The NFL Scouting Combine would come sometime after that, likely in mid-March
* The NFL Draft would be pushed anywhere between 1-3 weeks.
Free agency has previously started around the first week of March, so there wouldn’t be any change there, but that almost wasn’t the case. The NFL had previously proposed an offseason plan that would move the Combine to March, and push the launch of free agency to April, and finally move the draft to May. The NFLPA wouldn’t agree to this though, so it appears as though
It also looks like the dates for the 2014-16 NFL Drafts have been set:
Looks like 2014 NFL draft will be held May 15-17. In 2015 and 2016, league year would start early March, combine mid-March.
