The Cincinnati Bengals are set to resume their offseason training program today, and this period will go from May 28-30. The final OTA session will be June 3-6, which leads up to the mandatory minicamp from June 11-13. OTAs are lightly padded practices in which live contact is prohibited and serve more as a means of preventing players from getting too rusty while allowing the rookie to can a taste of the NFL.

With several offensive lineman out with various ailments, the rookies are already getting plenty of reps, particularly Tanner Hawkinson. Andrew Whitworth is out due to offseason knee surgery and Andre smith was a no-show during the first OTA session. Head Coach Marvin Lewis said Andre Smith’s absence was not related to conditioning issues and that it was other matters that he was taking care of.

Will keep you posted on any more stories that come out today.
