The NFL offseason is in full swing when you hear about player arrests at the rate they’re now coming in unfortunately. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan is the latest after he was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated after State Police booked Morgan with a DWI and driving with no license charge. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Morgan’s blood alcohol content registered 0.218 percent, which is more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit in Louisiana. That’s threes trikes in one arrest, and could lead to significant discipline form the Saints or the NFL resulting in missed games.
Morgan was projected to be the Saints’ #3 receiver after registering 379 yards and three touchdowns in 2012.
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster underwent an MRI on his right calf Tuesday after he walked off the field under his own power after suffering a calf strain during a recent OTA session.
Free agent quarterback JaMarcus Russell is reportedly “more than open”to signing with a CFL team if he doesn’t get an NFL chance this year. He is reportedly down to 265 pound, which is quite significant, because when Russell started his latest comeback attempt, he was at 315.
