New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski can’t seem to catch a break this offseason, as reports out of NFL.com suggest the All-Pro will need back surgery, Surgery tentatively is set for mid-June. It’s also believed Gronk will miss at least some of training camp, and could ultimately miss the Week 1 opener.
News of a potential back surgery arose a few weeks ago after it was announced that Gronkowski would be having his fourth arm surgery. With Gronkowski, along with Aaron Hernandez and Julian Edelman all either out or at least limited until training camp, the Patriots will be counting on Danny Amedola and Donald Jones, as well as rookie receivers Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce to try and pick up the slack.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan is the latest after he was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated after State Police booked Morgan with a DWI and driving with no license charge. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Morgan’s blood alcohol content registered 0.218 percent, which is more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit in Louisiana. That’s threes trikes in one arrest, and could lead to significant discipline form the Saints or the NFL resulting in missed games.
Morgan was projected to be the Saints’ #3 receiver after registering 379 yards and three touchdowns in 2012.
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster underwent an MRI on his right calf Tuesday after he walked off the field under his own power after suffering a calf strain during a recent OTA session.
