Marvin Lewis Presser Notes on Whitworth, Harrison & Special Teams

Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis is holding a press conference with the media, and he’s revealed that offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth will continue to be held out of practice for precautionary measures. He also talked about he addition of linebacker James Harrison, and what he brings to the Bengals:

The one tidbit about focusing on specail teams over the next three days will be critical for the players who will among the last 10-15 players to make the roster, as their abilitites to contribute on ST will determine whether or not they:

A. Even make the 53-man roster

B. Are able to make the 46-man gameday roster

This statement really stood out:

The fact that he’s already got around 60 players in mind that he can foresee making the roster makes the preseason games more interesting in the fact that we should be able to get a good idea of who those 60 players are by seeing who gets the majority of reps once the starters are taken out.
