It was just another day at the office for rookie first rounder Tyler Eifert as he preps for first team snaps. Eifert has taken the majority of the snaps with the ones and gotten extra work with the second-team offense. The Notre Dame rook is already looking like a polished NFL player, and will certainly be an intriguing player to watch.
Also standing out was Bengals 2nd-rounder Giovani Bernard as he weaves in and out of the starting defense. This is no surprise as he has done this all of camp so far.
On the first offensive play of the day, Brandon Tate caught a contested touchdown bomb from 3rd-year starter Andy Dalton. Tate might be making his case as a legitimate third wide receiver.
Practice was a short one this Sunday, as the Bengals leave for Atlanta this week to practice with the Falcons before the two clubs square off Thursday night in their preseason opener. The Bengals look crisp on offense, and this week’s first preseason matchup should give fans the taste of Bengals football they’ve been craving.
