First, game-balls need to go to two different players: Quarterback Josh Johnson & Dane Sanzenbacher.
Johnson ended the night 9/16 with 100 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 64 yards and had the night’s longest rushing play when his 43-yard dash set up the first Bengals scoring drive.
Sanzenbacher had the year’s first punt-return-touchdown, a 71-yarder that seemed effortless. He also ended the night with two reception for 59 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown catch late in the game from quarterback John Skelton, who ended the night with a 158.3 quarterback rating going 4/5 for 72 yards and one touchdown.
The nights best running back was rookie running back Rex Burkhead. Who had 9 carries for 52 yards averaging 5.8 per carry.
Giovani Bernard started the season off somewhat slower than what Bengals nation was hoping for being active in the pass game as well. Although he did have 1 touchdown.
10 rushes for 28 yards averaging 2.8 per carry with his long being 6 yards. His three catches for 16 yards were cut short when he slipped on his longest play of the night, which looked as if he would break a long play, but the slip caused him to be stopped short of the marker, as it was just a 16-yard gain.
