It is never a bad thing when you open up the preseason with a 34-10 victory, which is exactly what we saw Thursday night in Atlanta. The defense looked good as usual, but thee are a few players that really stood out to me.

Tight End Jermaine Gresham

Maybe it is because he sees Tyler Eifert as a threat and has decided to step up his game, or maybe he has made improvements, but I like what I saw from Jermaine Gresham. He had a couple of first down catches (one of which saw him lay out Falcons rookie CB Desmond Trufant), he didn’t drop or fumble the ball, and didn’t commit any penalties.

If he can keep this up and Eifert can live up to his potential, we could have ourselves a very good tight end tandem for years to come.
