AJ Green is used to being the best player on the field. When he came to Georgia as a freshman in 2008 he set Georgia freshman records by finishing the season with 56 receptions for 963 yards and 8 touchdowns. Green came back as a sophomore and put up 47 receptions for 751 yards and 6 touchdowns. He missed the final 3 games of the regular season.
Green would come back to Georgia for one more year as a junior. He was suspended the first four games of the season for selling his 2009 Independence Bowl jersey. He came back after that and put up 57 receptions for 848 yards and 9 touchdowns the rest of the season. After the season ended it was a pretty forgone conclusion that Green would declare for the NFL Draft.
The Bengals grabbed AJ with the 4th pick of the 2011 draft. There was some talk about whether the Bengals would trade the pick to the Falcons who reportedly offered them a trade for it. In the end the Bengals kept the pick and selected Green. Then in the 2nd round the Bengals selected Andy Dalton who would become the Bengals starter and the QB who would grow with Green. Green signed a 4 year contract worth $19.6 million with the Bengals.
