Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis said today that any injured player set to return in Saturday’s game against the Tennessee Titans is going to practice today.

While A.J. Green made his return today since the first day of training camp, it is expected that both he and offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth will be held out of this week’s preseason game, and the team will try to have them ready to play vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Whitworth practiced for the first time this offseason after he missed the first two weeks of training camp while rehabilitating his surgically repaired knee. He also missed the entire offseason training program.

Both players participated individual drills, but neither were a part of the 11-on-11 work.

Second-year defensive tackle Brandon Thompson continues to battle a knee injury, but it’s not perceived as serious, and he’s also targeting the Cowboys game next week to make his preseason game-action debut.
