Aug 24, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (14) calls a play in the first quarter of the game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT

The Cincinnati Bengals took one to the chin with Saturday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and it’s already left the fans in Bengals nation scratching their heads and talking of the cuts to come this afternoon, as if the preseason was not just an evaluation of these players to be released.

It’s easy to forget a lot of promise was displayed by an offense that struggled to move the ball last year, but that was easily forgotten since they managed to score just 18 points. Andy Dalton and the offense effortlessly drove down the field on their first possession of the game, only to watch Marvin Jones fumble the ball inside the red zone.

The game was close, and at times seemed as though the Bengals would pull back with second string players who basically started the game due to several players out with injuries, and a few others limited in their play.
