Bengals cornerback Adam Jones in’t shy about expressing his confidence as both a shutdown corner, as a well as a breakaway return-man.

Jones, who’s already looking ahead to the team’s showdown on Sept. 8 vs the Chicago Bears that features the NFL’s two active leaders for scoring touchdown off punt returns in he and Bears receiver Devin Hester.

But if you ask Jones who he thinks is a better returner, it’s no question:

“I’m the best,” Jones said Monday. “Why would I watch tape of somebody else?”

“He’s not as shifty as I am. He may have a little more top-end speed than me,” Jones said. “I don’t know about the 40, but as far as the 100, he would definitely beat me

Rookie linebacker J.K. Schaffer will be fighting to solidify a roster spot Thursday night, but after just barely missing out on making the Jacksonville Jaguars’ team last year, this isn’t anything new for the undrafted linebacker out of UC:

“It’s not my first rodeo. (This) is not an easy week,” Schaffer said. “No, I don’t know where I’ll be next week. I hope it’s here. But you have to put that stuff aside and go play ball. I think I’ve put myself in position. I think I’ve done everything I can to this point. As tough as it is, you can’t think about it, you have to go play.”
