Entering the final week of the preseason, the Cincinnati Bengals have now gone through OTA’s, voluntary workouts, mini-camp, training camp and four weeks of preseason football. All that is left to do now is cut down to the final 53 and get this season rolling. With expectations riding high, and television coverage even higher, Marvin Lewis and the Bengals can no longer hide behind the guise of no respect. This year’s team has to show they are not just lucky mediocrity, but a sound proven winning machine.
Through the first three preseason games, the Bengals have played somewhere between decently and good. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has played well, completing 24 of 37 passes for 265 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Dalton understands he has to play better, after throwing a pick in the 3rd preseason game, Dalton was quoted as saying,
“The fact we hurt ourselves is the biggest thing. You can look at all the bad but there are still some good stuff mixed in there. We did move the ball well, but didn’t get the points to show for it.”
