Adding those signings with the other key offseason deals that will keep Adam Jones, Terence Newman, Wallace Gilberry, and Andre Smith in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future, the  Bengals have now committed more than $180 million in total dollars in free agency or re-signing their own this offseason. All said, the Bengals have now spent about $140 million in cash this season over the $123 million salary cap this year.

For a franchise that rarely came close to even reaching the salary cap for much of the past two decade under the ownership of Mike Brown, things have clearly changed for the better in Cincinnati. Brown has adamantly stated he is committed to winning.

Now, he’s finally putting his money where his mouth is, and his team is now on the cusp of greatness because of it.
