It appears as though someone will be placed on the I.R. recall list today, and that roster spot will be filled by none other than backup tackle Dennis Roland:
Tackle Dennis Roland will re-sign with Bengals today, per league source.

Re-signing Roland was critical for Week 1, as it’s looking more likely each day that Andrew Whitworth won’t be suiting up, and Roland can play both tackle spots.
Roland played in all 64 games in the last four seasons for the Bengals, starting 29 times although most of those starts came in 2009 and 2010. Roland initially signed onto the Bengals practice squad in 2008 and was eventually promoted to the team’s active roster later that year. Roland signed a one-year deal in March as an unrestricted free agent.
With the Bengals having yet to announce who is being placed on the I.R. recall list, expect it to be receiver Andrew Hawkins, but given the unknown condition of Whitworth’s knee, don’t rule out him getting the designation.
