After a long and uninspiring preseason for the Oakland Raiders with Matt Flynn being the starting quarterback, it appears as though the coaching staff already feel a change needs to be made before the seasons gets ugly as soon as it begins. The San Francisco Chronicle reports Terrelle Pryor will start the Raiders’ Week 1 opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Pryor’s only made one career start for the Raiders in his two seasons with the team, which was the 2012 regular season finale in December. It was a hard-fought 24-21 loss to the San Diego Chargers. In that game, Pryor threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns while adding 49 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
Free agent offensive guard Danny Watkins is hoping to catch-on with another NFL team after a lackluster career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he wasn’t able to do enough during training camp to prevent new head coach Chip Kelly from parting ways with the former Baylor Bear on Saturday. After he went unclaimed on waivers, the third-year guard became a free agent, and can now sign with whichever NFL team he wants to.
The 2011 first-round pick now hopes to get a fresh start with a new team, and that may be the Miami Dolphins, according to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports.
Former New England Patriots tight end will be arraigned in Fall River Superior Court at 2:00 p.m. ET, according to FOX 29 in Boston. Hernandez has already been indicted on first-degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd.
