Pittsburgh Steelers sign Shayne Graham

Shayne Graham has had one of the more interesting careers of any NFL kicker in the league’s long history. The Pittsburgh Steelers signed the former Bengals kicker today in order to provide a stop-gap for Shaun Suisham, who will likely miss a few weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The Steelers are the 14th different team that has signed Graham over the course of his career. By signing with the Steelers, that means that all four AFC North teams are now represented on that list. The Cincinnati Bengals originally drafted him, and he was cut and signed with the Ravens, then Browns at one point.

Graham now comes full-circle as he faces his original club next Monday night in primetime. This storyline will greatly overshadow the Bengals-Steelers rivalry, as well as the fact that both teams are in “must-win” mode in order to avoid the devastating 0-2 start, which typically means no playoffs.
