Over the past week, the Cincinnati Bengals have brought in linebackers Thomas Howard, Michael Boley, Maalik Bomar, Tyrone McKenzie and Etienne Sabino for a workout in hopes of finding someone suitable enough to provide some emergency depth with their ailing LB corps.
Alas, if they do find a player they deal is worth signing it probably won’t be this week:
Barring a major change in plans, roster appears set going into Steelers week. IE — No signings to either the 53 or practice squad

Patience is the key right now. There’s no viable option on the market right now, and assuming Burfict will be healthy enough to suit-up Monday night, it’s not imperative they sign another linebacker before then. Look for them to eventually call up J.K. Schaffer if they need another LB. He may be raw as far as playing in the regular-season, but he knows the system.
The team may also be holding out hope Thomas Howard will be healthy enough to sign at some point this year.
