Bomar signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars following April’s draft, but was released when the Jags cut their roster to 75 players as well. The former Bearcat appeared in 47 games at LB, and his career totals include 178 tackles (133 solo), 15.0 tackles for a loss, five passes defensed, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two rumble recoveries and one INT.
In 2012, he recorded 68 tackles (51 solo), 3.5 tackles for a loss, two passes defensed and one INT as a senior.
It doesn’t appear either one of them would be anything more than special teams depth and an emergency option if one of the current Bengals LBs goes down. There aren’t many veterans on the market though, and if Howard can’t get healthy soon, they may be forced to sign an undrafted rookie.
