4. Who on the Packers defense do we need to be aware of, and which player has emerged this year, if any?

Every team needs to account for Clay Matthews when facing the Packers. He’s consistently the difference maker on the Packers defense. His motor never stops, and even when he doesn’t always get to the quarterback, he finds ways to impact the game.

So far, I can’t exactly point to a specific defensive player that has emerged this season, but as a unit, the Packers defensive line has really improved this year. The team got Johnny Jolly back after a three-year suspension, and he’s been playing well in the Packers base defense alongside Ryan Pickett and B.J. Raji. The three defensive linemen have been stout against the run. Second-year player Mike Daniels has also looked really good as one of the two down defensive lineman in the Packers’ sub packages.
