The New England Patriots may be getting their All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski back this week after all, and they may also have their top wide receiver if Danny Amendola is able to suit-up vs the Atlanta Falcons:

This would be a tremendous boost to a team in dire need of offensive firepower.

If one or neither of them can play, rookies Josh Boyce, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins will once again be counted on to step-up for Brady, but this week vs the Falcons will be their biggest test thus far.

The St. Louis Rams were dominated last night at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, but their most serious loss came late in the game when starting rookie safety T.J. McDonald was carted off the field after suffering an injury to his right leg.

As it turned out, he fractured his leg, but according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, he won’t need surgery, and will be placed on injured reserve/designated for return, which will allow him to return in eight weeks.

The surprising 2-1 New York Jets will once again be without two players who they were counting on to be significant players for the this year, as running back Chris Ivory and cornerback Dee Milliner have both been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

Ivory, who the team traded for this offseason to be their bell-cow back,  hurt his hamstring in last week’s victory over the Buffalo Bills and did not practice all week as a result.

Milliner, the ninth overall pick out of Alabama and projected replacement for All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis, was injured in practice earlier this week and did not practice on Thursday or Friday.

The Oakland Raiders may have quarterback Terrelle Pryor after all this Sunday after he was able to practice Friday. He remains a gametime decision after suffering a concussion on Monday night vs the Denver Broncos, but was cleared this week to return to practice and live-game action.
