Patriots NT Vince Wilfork’s torn Achilles will end his season. He’s been an ironman for NE. Sense is he was playing thru pain this year.

The two backup defensive linemen currently are rookies Chris Jones and Joe Vellano. Look for hem to sign a free agent this week, perhaps Myron PRyor, who’s played and started for the Patriots. He’s currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
The New England Patriots were able to overcome the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome last night, but they may have suffered a huge loss after defensive tackle Vince Wilfork walked off the field with what appeared to be a n ankle injury, and has since been carted back into the locker-room:
Not good — Vince Wilfork on the cart. Outside of Brady, no one the Patriots can more ill afford to lose. — Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) September 30, 2013
NBC Sideline Reporter Michele Tafoya later reported that Wilfork and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady spoke on the sideline, and the word regarding the injury, which she called an ankle injury, was not positive. Wilfork was eventually ruled-out of the game prior to the second-half beginning, at which point the game was still in doubt with both teams tied at 10.
Wilfork has played every game since the start of the 2010 season and has missed just six games in his 10-year career.
