Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski not traveling to Cincinnati

The Bengals appeared to have caught a break this week, as they will not have to face All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski when the Patriots come to town:

It’s rather surprising he won’t play considering the team just released a promising rookie TE in Zach Sufeld, and actually have two open roster spots at the moment. It look as though the 2013 NFL debut of Gronkowski won’t be until next week at home vs the New Orleans Saints.

For now, the Pats will likely go with Michael Hoomanawanui and Matthew Mulligan.
