The Patriots opened up the second quarter with some running plays to get them to their 39 yard line. But a deep incomplete pass forced them to punt it to the Bengals, giving Dalton and the offense the ball on the Bengal 21-yard line with 10:57 to go in the half.

After a couple short passes to Gresham, and a one-yard pickup on the ground by Bernard, the Bengals were forced to go three and out, and punt it away.

The Patriots would muff the return but were able to hold for some decent field position at their 41-yard line. And an illegal procedure penalty against the Bengals would give them another five yards tacked on.

Thanks to a short pass play on first down, and a Bengal horse collar penalty on 2nd down, the Patriots were able to get to around the Bengal 32-yard line. A bad throw by Brady on first down was followed by a Patriots running play. Dunlap would strip the runner of the ball, giving the Bengals possession of the football with 7:54 to go in the half.

The Bengals would take over at the New England 30-yard line. Just after the announcers said AJ Green had been a non-factor, Dalton finds him for about a 20-yard gain, getting Cincinnati into Patriot territory.

Another quick slant to Green followed by a slant pass to Marvin Jones got the Bengals to the New England 25-yard line.

Dalton would get sacked on 2nd down, setting up a 3rd and 17 play. A pass to Sanu came up just short.

Mike Nugent would come out to attempt a 39-yard field goal. It was good and gave the Bengals a 3-0 lead with about 3:12 to go in the half.

The Patriots would move the ball, but eventually punt to the CIN-6 yard line, and the Bengals were unable to run-out the clock.

Brady would come out and throw a strike to Danny Amendola that would get them to the CIN-27. Steven Gostowski would then convert a 42-yard field goal, and the game is tied at 3-3 going into the half.
