The Patriots would open their next drive with a 17-yard completion to Thompkins to get them at the New England 42-yard line. Other than an offsides penalty, the Bengals defense held strong the next three downs, forcing the seventh New England punt of the day.

On the ensuing Bengal drive, Dalton got sacked on a 2nd and 7 play, pinning the Bengals at their own 2-yard line. But a big pass to Marvin Jones gave Cincy the first down at their 30-yard line.

Then Bernard would break loose for a huge run on the next play, putting the Bengals at the New England 42-yard line as the time expired in the third quarter.

Bengals continue to lead 6-3.
