The Indianapolis Colts were desperately in need o running back depth after losing Ahmad Bradshaw for the year, and they’ve signed Daniel “Boom” Herron from the Bengals’ practice squad:

Herron was a sixth-round pick last season out of Ohio State, but saw action in just three games and got four carries as a rookie. He did block a punt vs the Philadelphia Eagles, and showed a lot of promise as a special teams player.

His fate with the Bengals was sealed though when The team drafted Giovani Bernard and Rex Burkhead in the 2013 draft to go with BenJarvus Green-Ellis Scott and Cedric Peerman, which was too much for Herron to overcome. He led the Bengals with 31 carries for 167 yards (5.4 avg) and 1 TD this preseason.
