3. Free Gio
Giovani Bernard finally received at least 15 carries in a game. While he did not flash in the run game, he performed very well in the passing game, where he caught six passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. This was the first time in Bernard’s rookie career where he had more than 20 touches in a game, and he made them count. He played mediocre in the running game, but still showed flashes.
As Bernard is getting more and more comfortable with his role on this team, one could very well see Bernard receiving more and more touches. Bernard is a game breaker, and came up very big in crucial moments, especially in this game where he caught a wheel route pass and kept running. His 20 yard touchdown reception also showcased his overall playing ability.
4. Andy Dalton and AJ Green on the Same Page
This has been a struggle throughout the year, but Dalton and Green seemed very much on the same page. While Green had one dropped pass, the both looked very on point with one another. Dalton threw a touchdown pass where Green could go up and make the catch, but Dalton also threw bullets to Green.
It was a relief to Bengal fans to see these two back on the same page together since earlier in the year it appeared that there was a lot of miscommunication. Bengal fans can only hope they continue to progress together from here on out.
