The New England Patriots have yet to rule out wide receiver Danny Amendola for Week 7 against the New York Jets after he suffered a devastating concussion in Week 6, but he’s still expected to be out for at least a few weeks, and they’re now searching for more help at that position.
According to Field Yates from ESPN Boston, the Pats worked out former Bengals receiver Jordan Shipley today:
The Patriots tried out a trio of WR’s today, per source: Jordan Shipley, Devon Wylie & LaQuan Williams. TE Brandon Barden in for tryout too. — Field Yates (@FieldYates) October 15, 2013
The most notable of which is Jordan Shipley, who led all rookies in receptions after being drafted in third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. After tearing his ACL in 2011, he’s bounced around from Cincinnati to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and last had a brief stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the preseason, but was ultimately cut.
