“What player needs to step his game up with over 1/3 of the season gone by?”

Dre Kirkpatrick. This guy was a 17th overall pick taken ahead of Melvin Ingram, Riley Reiff, and most notably as a corner, Janoris Jenkins. Thus far, he has been a massive non-contributor to this football team. At this point I feel like there are two things that I am guaranteed to see each Sunday with the Bengals:

1. Andy Dalton will have an obligatory ball batted down at the line of scrimmage by a defensive linemen

2. Dre Kirkpatrick will be shaken up on a play.

With Dee Milliner starting his NFL career for the New York Jets in the same limp-out-the-gate fashion as Kirkpatrick, I’m going to be watching to see if Alabama corners are perhaps a bit systematic and over-rated. …just curious: at what point do we call Kirkpatrick a Ki-Jana Carter level bust?

Andy Dalton: I don’t know that he necessarily needs to “step-up” but Dalton does need to continue to prove to people that he’s the guy. He’s had his downs this year but we’ve also seen what he can do against some of the elite teams in the NFL so he needs to continue to improve as the season goes on.
