After last week’s devastating loss to the Utah Utes, the Stanford Cardinal faced a must-win scenario today at home in hopes of keeping pace in the PAC-12 North. Facing the No. 9 UCLA Bruins, Stanford was going to need everyone to step-up their game today.
With the score tied at 3-3 with seven minutes left in the third-quarter, wide receiver Kodi Whitfield made the play of the game as he hauled-in a 30-yard pass from quarterback Kevin Hogan that put the Cardinal ahead for good in what ended up being a 24-10 victory, but it was that amazing catch that everyone will remember.
Here is the video of the play that will certainly be on the Sportscenter Top-10 plays of the day:
The Bruins entered the game averaging 45.8 points per game. That ranked second in the Pac-12 behind Oregon, which hosts UCLA next week before traveling to Stanford on Nov. 7 in matchups that will likely decide the Pac-12’s championship game.
