The Houston Texans are in the midst of a five game losing streak that has their season in jeopardy, and they may have just lost one of their best defensive players:
Just got a text from Brian Cushing. Tough man! Broke his leg & tore his LCL, out for year. Says he will kill his rehab & come back stronger

Per sources, Brian Cushing is believed to have a torn LCL and will likely need surgery. Not as bad as last year, but done for the year. — Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) October 21, 2013
The play happened after Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was in pass-protection and blocked low on Cushing as he was blitzing on a play, and immediately hit the ground screaming in pain.
If you recall, Cushing is already in the midst of a comeback season after suffering a season-ending ACL tear last year when he was low-blocked by a New York Jets player in a Monday Night Football game.
Losing Cushing would be a blow to the top ranked Texans defense. Going into Sunday’s game against Kansas City, Cushing was third on the team in sacks (1.5), tied for first in interceptions (1) and the team-leader in tackles (44).
