Bengals safety George Iloka was fined $15,000 for a hit that concussed Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley in their Week 3 matchup. Iloka hit Finley in the first quarter of the Bengals’ wild 34-30 win over the Packers, and the hit knocked him out of the game and he didn’t return.
“He was coming at me head first, and I was just trying to make a play on the ball and knock it out with my hand, and his head happened to hit my lower bicep area and caused a concussion,” Iloka said after learning of the fine.
Iloka appealed the fine, and word is just now coming down that he did lose the appeal, but that it was reduced:
Also, #Bengals safety George Iloka told us he lost his appeal on the fine for the hit on Jermichael Finley last month. Was reduced to $10K
