Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller’s struggles have been in large part because of a nagging ankle injury that’s limited him to just 24 carries over the past three games. Instead of continuing to use him in a limited capacity, the Bills will sit him this week in hopes he can recover and become the C.J. Spiller who totaled 1,800 yards from scrimmage last year:
C.J. Spiller and Manny Lawson are listed as doubtful for Sunday. Jeff Tuel will be the backup QB.

It looks like C.J. Spiller is unlikely for Week 8. Fred Jackson to carry the mail. Good for Spiller – he needs to rest his ankle.

The Atlanta Falcons‘ Week 7 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was the first wide receiver Roddy White has ever missed in his 8-year NFL career. A bum ankle and hamstring injuries knocked the Falcons great out of the lineup, and it appears as though it will do the same again this week:

Steven Jackson will be listed as probable, Smith said. Baker questionable — vaughn mcclure (@vxmcclure23) October 25, 2013
