Bengals cornerback Adam Jones is once again in the news, and this time, it’s for something he supposedly did on the field vs his many off-the-field issues he’s had over the years. While playing the New York Jets yesterday, he apparently wasn’t too fond of wide receiver David Nelson, whom the Jets just signed a few weeks ago to bolster their thin WR crops.
Jones was very angry with his dirty play, particularity several cut-blocks that Nelson initiated after plays had already been blown dead. It got so bad that Jones eventually started yelling head coach Rex Ryan, asking why he was playing so dirty:
“He told me to shut the hell up. It was something like 35-6,” said Jones. “(Nelson) was playing dirty. He cut me like four times after the play. Thank God I took my medicine today, I guess, and I didn’t go off. Hopefully he’ll get fined. At least three fines. There were three real cheap shots after the play.”
It didn’t end there, as according to the New York Daily News Jones also threatened Nelson in saying, “I’m going to find out where you live and come and get you.”
