The Baltimore Ravens have made a pair of surprising roster moves today, as they’ve cut of their best free agent signings from this offseason in safety Michael Huff and defensive lineman Marcus Spears:

The Salary implications make it even more of a surprising move:
Marcus Spears signed a two-year, $2.75 million deal including $600,000 signing bonus. Was due nonguaranteed $1.25 millionbase salary in 2014 — Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) October 30, 2013
If unclaimed off waivers, Michael Huff gets $2.3M this yr from the Ravens. Hadn’t played a defensive snap since Week 4. — Brian McIntyre (@brian_mcintyre) October 30, 2013
Maybe the Bengals should kick the tires on Huff, as he has experience playing both safety and cornerback, and could replace Taylor Mays after he was placed on the injured reserve list.
