Courtesy of Bengals Public Relations, here is the release regarding today’s roster moves which included activating wide receiver Andrew Hawkins to the 53-man roster and signing defensive end DeQuin Evans to the practice squad:
The Bengals today activated WR Andrew Hawkins to the roster from the Reserve/Injured list. Hawkins has spent Games 1-8 on Reserve/Injured, due to ankle injury suffered in preseason, and he was designated as the team’s player eligible for possible return.
Hawkins (5-7, 180; Toledo) is a third-year NFL player. He played in 14 Bengals games last season and finished third on the team in receptions (51) and receiving yards (533), with four touchdowns.
The Bengals today signed DE DeQuin Evans to the practice squad.
Evans (6-2, 265; Kentucky) is a first-year NFL player. He was with the Bengals in preseason, playing in all four games (three tackles). He spent the first eight weeks of the regular season on an NFL suspension (violation of policy on performance-enhancing substances). He was cleared on Monday of this week to rejoin Bengals activities on a roster exemption. He was waived by the team Tuesday.
