The Bengals season in a nutshell

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns had been am extremely frustrating game for the guys in stripes. After a pair of Dalton picks, a ridiculous 43-yard run by  Chris Ogbonnaya of all people, and a Cincinnati crowd booing the team with a passion, they were trailing 13-0, and like many times before, it looked as though all was lost.

But this is one of the more resistant NFL teams you’ll ever see. And they typically fight back and make plays in the most improbable and unconventional ways possible.

After an interception returned for a touchdown was made by James Harrison, an illegal block n the back by Brandon Thompson negated it. But Andy Dalton would come out and hit Jermaine Gresham at the 3-yard line, and he would power through a pair of Browns defenders and into the endzone to cut the deficit to 13-7.

Then, after the Bengals defense forced a three-and-out on the ensuing drive, they blocked the punt and followed it up with a lateral pass to Mohamed Sanu, and he threw a beautiful spiral to running back Giovani Bernard, who took it down to the goaline, where three plays later, Dalton threw a beautiful fad pass to Sanu to give the Bengals a 14-13 lead.

That sounds about right for these Bengals. Oh, and they just forced another three-and-out by the Browns, which makes it four straight possession by the defense in which they didn’t allow a first down, and they now have it at the CIN 46 after another terrible Cleveland punt.
