Pressley earned playing time as a lead blocker in the Bengals’ running game since re-joining the team in 2010. He was on the team in 2009, and was highlighted when HBO’s Hard Knocks was profiling the Bengals that offseason.

For now, tight end Alex Smith has played the role that Pressley did, but more so during short-yardage opportunities as a third tight end, and occasionally as an H-back. Because the Bengals have three weeks until they have to activate him and the bye week now here, the team essentially has two weeks to practice with him before their next game, and that should be enough time for them to decide if they want to keep Pressley on the active roster, cut him, or end his season while allowing him to remain on the roster via the injured reserve list.
