Football season along with fantasy football season is near the last quarter of the year. If your league is like many then your fantasy season ends in week 16 to avoid teams resting players in week 17.  For some of you it has become a crucial time to get a couple of wins to make a push for the playoffs.  At this time of year there are always seems to be players that have a big game while sitting on a bench or still on waivers.  Here are some players with favorable matchups to consider giving a start for this week.

QB – Josh McCown

Yes that Josh McCown.  He is a perfect example of, VBQI, veteran backup quarterback insurance.   In two starts McCown has thrown 5 TD’s to 0 Int’s and barley missed two more TD’s in last week’s mudder fest in Chicago.  McCown is worth a go this week in the climate controlled confines in St. Louis.

QB – Case Keenum

Playing very solid “real” football Case Keenum also has upside as a fantasy option.  This week he gets the Jaguars and their second worst ranking against opposing quarterbacks.  While the Texans don’t have much to play for their young QB does and with continued solid play he could cause Houston to pass on an early round QB in next year’s draft.
