Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl tight end Pitta remains on injured reserve-designated to return and wasn’t activated before today’s NFL transaction deadline, meaning he’s not eligible to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
But according to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, the Ravens should have him back Thursday when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thanksgiving night:
Ravens calling Dennis Pitta game-time decision, but keep hearing he had a great week of practice. Suggs came back right away last year. Hmm

Pitta would have to be added to active roster today to play Sunday. Barring any setback he would be in good shape to play Thurs vs. PIT — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) November 23, 2013
The Ravens could also activate Pitta at the end of the three-week window in which he can either be placed on the active roster or go on season-ending injury reserve. They can carry him on the roster heading into the December 8 Minnesota Vikings game, so at worst, that will be his 2013 debut.
