Update

Adam Schefter claims it’s a one-year suspension that Browner will appeal:

NFL Network’s Mike Silver reports Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is facing an eight-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy:

Two sources say that Browner’s suspension for marijuana use, while one source says it was for adderall use. The distinction is critical. As a repeat offender, Browner could face an eight game suspension if he violated the PED policy. A substance abuse policy violation would be for four games.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Browner was suspended four games last season for violating the PED policy. As a second-time offender, he’ll get eight games. That leaves him one strike away from a one-year ban. Silver also says this will end Browner’s tenure with the Seahawks, as he’s a free agent after the season, and the team is “done with him.
